He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (emerging as the overall best graduating student from the department in 1985). He also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), from the Lagos State University, specializing in Marketing Management. His working experience ranges from broadcasting, Insurance, Banking, Heavy Duty Construction, Trucks Marketing and Management.

He has about 10 years’ experience in banking: branch management, credit and marketing, and corporate banking in Zenith Bank. He is an Associate Member of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Member Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, etc.

He attended various Marketing and Management courses from Lagos Business School, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, IBFC Augusto & Co, Dale & Parker Consulting, etc.

He is also a Special member of The Bible Society of Nigeria. Edmund Okwu was also the GM Sales and Marketing, Richbon Nigeria Ltd.
